a message from the blogger
I'm still trying to update Touille's blog so that there are no more dead links or links to sites that are not secure. I've had to delete a few posts which made no sense anymore. Touille is always on my mind as I update and read old posts.

Hahn im Schnee
Hahn im Schnee by Gisela.
It's a chicken in the snow! It looks like Foghorn Leghorn!
More animal photos by this photographer.

He runs with a Frisbee!
He runs with a Frisbee by maruta.
This Dachshund seems to be having a great time and getting his exercise!
Back in the day, when I was a young pup, I liked to run, though not with a Frisbee. But nowadays I am happier to walk, and more often, to sleep!
- Touille, a little old dog who has had many good years of exercise (but now is content to rest on her laurels)

Cosmo's 3rd birthday
Cosmo at 3 by mkapor.
Why do our people make us wear these silly hats?
- Touille, a dog who has no objection to a frou-frou about the neck, or even a tutu about the waist, but who cannot abide a hat!

My friend Nutmeg
j10 by bfelice.
Here's my pal Nutmeg with her "poop ball." It is not filled with poop or smelling like poop or anything like that. It's just that Nutty likes to carry the ball outside when she is doing her business. So I've heard that this toy is the "poop ball" now.
I don't like to carry anything with me when I go out to poop. It's too distracting.

My friend made this lovely photo creation of me dressed to the nines.
Don't I look fantastic? Maybe that's not quite the proper word.

Touille, front view, photo taken by Amy.
Here's a photo of me looking about how I generally look. You can see that I have kind of cloudy eyes; that's an old age thing. After all, 16 is rather elderly for a dog.
If you click on this link, the photo is practically life size!

The Pyle family's latest addition
new puppy
The Pyle family states that this young dog's name is Pepe Le Pew! Payr-haps shee izz ay French doggie, n'est-ce pas?
I have a French name, Touille, but I am a citizen of the world!

Puppy has the "look of the Irish"
A pup was born with a lime-green colored coat, just in time for St. Patrick's Day!

MB's 2019 UPDATE: The original link was no longer active, but I've added this one from more recent times. (Photos included.) Other puppies have been born green, which a simple web search will reveal.

Gizmo at Bathtime
Gizmo at Bathtime by jmatthew3 (Matt).
I like the look on Gizmo's face. You can tell he really doesn't want a bath, but feels he must submit.

If Dogs wrote letters to God
Dear God,
Why do humans smell the flowers, but seldom, if ever, smell one another?
Dear God,
When we get to heaven, can we sit on your couch? Or is it the same old story?
Dear God,There are more like these at Lady Mac's Musings.
If a dog barks his head off in the forest and no human hears him, is he still a bad dog?
(2019 UPDATE: I can't find Lady Mac on the internet anymore, but there's a recent humor website that has these and more. I am not sure yet who to credit for these bits of humor.)
- Touille, a little dog who hasn't had time lately to actually write to God (much time spent in slumber)

Greyhounds in Kansas are NOT dogs?
Mr. J-walk, in his blog. links to this story:
Are Greyhounds Dogs? Kansas says NO
I just don't understand all this legal stuff!
- Touille, a small dog who doesn't personally know any greyhounds herself (but did think that they are dogs!)
NOTE: all links in this story have been updated for 2019 by MB. (Mr. J-walk had to be removed altogether.)

...greyhounds aren't bred for pets, and therefore, shouldn't fall under pet protection laws.So says the executive director of the National Greyhound Association.

Piglets and Eli
Piglets and Eli
by waltzzz (Walter Logeman) on Flickr
As a smaller size dog myself, I just want to let everyone know that big dogs don't scare me, unless they are very rude and aggressive.
But I must admit, children do scare me. Also adults who move around too quickly.
- Touille, a small but sometimes brave dog
PS. Thanks to my new friend (I hope) Terry who let us know about flickr.com and blogging photos from their website for FREE! And I highly recommend his book, You Are A Dog, which MB has been reading to me, a gift from my best friend Nutty. Don't Eat Bees!
Several years ago, I ate a bee that was flying by. Or rather, I tried to eat it. It stung me inside my mouth, and my lips got swollen. MB was very worried, but I was able to breathe all right, so the vet said that it was not necessary to take me to that place where they poke and prod and give injections!
I have not tried to eat any bees or yellowjackets or wasps since then. But flies are okay to eat.

It boggles the mind.

"Sick As A Dog"
MB (my Person and Keyboarder for this blog) told me she is "sick as a dog" today.
Why should dogs be the epitome of sickness? Why not say, "sick as a cat" or "sick as a bird"? Have you seen a sick bird? Its feathers look all nasty and clumpy; nothing could be more pathetically sick looking.
As a dog myself, I'd like to stop the linking of sickness with dogness. Let's start using a different expression, People!
I myself will start saying "sick as a bird."
- Touille, a small dog who has occasionally been "sick as a bird"

From the looks of this photo, Floyd ought not to have eaten a pepper.

Office Decorum
Miss Abigail says:
"My office is perfectly well-mannered, of course. Unless you think that the dog licking her privates while I write this is in bad form. Do you think I should have a talk with her?"
We dogs lick because we can. Because we must.
"Here are a few samples of the bad manners objected to by office managers:
...Running through the offices or in the halls; Eating in the office..."
What kind of working environment do these humans subject themselves to? No running or eating? (Actually, MB informs me that her co-workers workers eat all day long.)
"1939: High Standards Must Be Maintained"
(notice the date. perhaps standards are somewhat different in the 21st century!)

The Piglets are back: A cool photo from flickr.com
piglets2 by Waltzzz.
I like these piglets. They are probably around my size now (I am a seven-and-a-half pound dog).
I've heard that little piglets grow up to be huge sows and hogs. I guess that's OK, as long as they don't step on me!

I am the queen dog
MB, the human who shares the apartment with me, has not been as attentive as usual. She spends more time typing things into the computer than she does attending to my needs, such as scratching and petting me, feeding me table tidbits, and walking with me around the territory so that I may sniff.
I would just like to remind her that I am the queen!

Quotations about dogs
Scratch a dog and you'll find a permanent job.
- Franklin P. Jones
Don't accept your dog's admiration as conclusive evidence that you are wonderful.
- Ann Landers
If you are a dog and your owner suggests that you wear a sweater, suggest that he wear a tail.
- Fran Lebowitz
A bone to the dog is not charity. Charity is the bone shared with the dog, when you are just as hungry as the dog.
- Jack London
It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.
- Mark Twain
My husband and I are either going to buy a dog or have a child. We can't decide whether to ruin our carpet or ruin our lives.
- Rita Rudner
I kind of like the one by Rita Rudner. Even though I am not sure that I'm responsible for the ruination of MB's carpet. I think that she bears some responsibility!
- Touille (a very small dog)
I am a dog
My name is Touille and I am a small dog who likes to eat, sleep, and play.
I don't know why people say "It's a dog's life" in such a negative way.
I think my life is pretty great!
