Touille departed this life on May 27, 2006. Here are some photos of Touille from the past year.

May 27, 2006 - Touille only made it halfway up the stairs. I carried her the rest of the way up. I washed her face and carried her back to the car. We drove to the Humane Society office at 8 AM.

The last photo I took of Touille, still in the car. At the Humane Society, I held her and kissed her and told her she was a good dog.

I'm so sorry. You're right - Touille had a long, wonderful life. That doesn't mean she isn't missed. A friend of mine shared a wonderful saying when I went through this: "Euthanasia is the last, best gift we give our dogs. We take their pain and make it our own." I hope memories make you smile.
Thanks, Hope. I do have so many great memories from all the 16 years that I had Touille with me. I alternate between laughing and crying through my memories of all the good times we had. Thanks for commenting and for sharing the quote about euthanasia.
