a message from the blogger

I'm still trying to update Touille's blog so that there are no more dead links or links to sites that are not secure. I've had to delete a few posts which made no sense anymore. Touille is always on my mind as I update and read old posts.

Happy Birthday To Me

Touille begging
Touille begging by MBK.

I don't really know the exact date of my birth, but MB has chosen May 17 to celebrate my birthday. Of course the day was really just like any other. When a dog gets to be 16 years old, that's a pretty good span of life. A good day to me is when I get plenty of treats and a good walk.

According to WebMD's chart, a 14 year old small dog is equivalent to a human aged 72. MB is only 52, but sometimes she acts like she's a lot older than I am. This morning on our walk, a neighbor looked at us moving along and called me "Little Feisty." I am sure he thought that MB was old and decrepit by comparison.
MB chose to spend the day at her "job" and then doing some laundry. We didn't even have time for a long walk afterwards, but MB promises that today will be a good day to explore the entire neighborhood (after she comes home from doing whatever it is that she does for most of the daylight hours).
I plan to take many naps until she returns.

Doggie Treasure Hunt?

Dogs in the Yard

These dogs are intently looking and sniffing for something in this yard. I wonder why they are all looking in different places? Could there be many treasures within the white picket fence?

Eating Grass

Grass is good for the digestive system.

To a dog, fiestas and holidays are all about the food. The photographer claims:

"This is a BBQ Tofu Quesedilla from a place called R.P. Tracks in Memphis, TN. Without a doubt one of the tastiest things I've had all year. The tofu is mindblowing."

I don't know what this "Tofu" stuff is, but I am willing to try any food that contains cheese!

Mallard Duck

Mallard (Mallard by Janet.)

I used to chase ducks in the park when MB and I lived close to January-Wabash Park, which had a small lake and lots of ducks and a few geese. I never was able to catch any of these web-footed birds; they'd jump into the lake and MB wouldn't let me follow.

I understand that these ducks taste something like chicken or turkey, which I have never caught in the wild, but have eaten many times in a cooked state.

Digging a hole

Frobe by coicoi on Flickr.

Frobe says:

"Nasha has taught me to dig holes!"

Unlike Frobe and Nasha, I am a "house dog" mostly, so I rarely get a chance to dig holes in the ground. Usually I have to dig in the bedspread and blankets and pillows that are spread around on the bed. I can't make a really big hole like Frobe is showing us here, but with persistence, I am able to bury a few things in the blankets.

Casper unwinds.

Casper unwinds.  by sometimeafterelcid.

Casper does seem relaxed. I don't think that I have ever been seated in such a way that my legs splay apart like this. I am more of a dainty dog, lying with my paws crossed in a ladylike fashion.

Not to brag but Googling "touille" now has Doggie's Blog FIRST on the list

When I posted this about a month ago, Doggie's blog was the sixth entry in a Google search on the word "touille". When I tried the search today, Doggie's Blog is now number one. I don't know what that means in my day to day life. I still like sniffing, napping, walking, and eating treats.
